WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD. DO NOT READ THIS POST IF YOU HAVE NOT READ ME BEFORE YOU.
I really pumped up Me Before You and I'm happy to say I was pleased with the sequel. Me Before You set the bar so high and After You certainly wasn't as good. However, I think this sequel wrapped things up nicely.
The book once again focuses on Louisa. Poor Louisa. Can you imagine falling in love and having the man you love follow through with his assisted suicide regardless of your love? She reacts as any normal human would . . . insecurities popping up left and right, depression, etc.
Luckily, the book is not all doom and gloom. After a massive injury, Louisa snaps out of it and starts attending a grief group. She also meets a handsome EMT.
I searched between the pages for the witty British humor sprinkled throughout Me Before You and was sad to find so little of it. I had a few laughs in After You, but it wasn't quite the same.
Overall, I would give this cute little sequel 3 stars out of 5. It didn't knock my socks off but I definitely enjoyed it!
