HELLO TO MY SMALL YET FAITHFUL FOLLOWING!
I have been slaaaacking. So sorry. But on the bright side ... so many good summer reads for you all! Honestly, I've been passing out recs like candy. The number of fun books I've read recently is out of control so I am about to hit you with some GREAT RECOMMENDATIONS.
A twenty something year old named Mae is hired at a tech company called The Circle aka Google. (Let me just say this book was so great for indulging in my fantasy re. working at Google. I have a friend who works at Google and it actually sounds as cool as it does in the book. She has meetings at the park on her floor. She's a lucky human.) Mae gets sucked in by the beautifully perfect life The Circle offers its workers. Then she gets sucked waaaay into a huge scandal that is actually the author's commentary on the eventual death to privacy via social media and Big Brother type surveillance.
They're making a movie about this book for a reason. Also EMMA WATSON and TOM HANKS are starring in this movie for a reason. Those are some very legitimate very awesome stars and they would not be in just any movie . . . thereby justifying my love for this story.
Feel free to read this book on the beach without being embarrassed by a trashy dime store looking cover. Its entertaining AND intellectual. I give this book five stars out of five for being relevant and fun.
